Cyber Champions

Purpose

The Cyber Champions program aims to empower K-12 students to become leaders in technology by promoting awareness and providing opportunities to implement best practices in artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and digital citizenship within their school, district, and community. 

Cyber Champion Commitment

A Committed Cyber Champion: 
  1. Participates in the artificial intelligence, cyber security, and digital citizenship contests and events.
  1. Joins monthly virtual student-led workshops
    • Participates in workshops that focus on various artificial intelligence, cyber security, and digital citizenship topics. These workshops will be held virtually on the first Tuesday of the month at 4:30 pm. Students will need their device and internet access outside of school to be able to attend meetings and to collaborate with their peers on projects/ presentations.

      March 2025 (In person TBD DCSD board meeting)
      April 1, 2025
      May 2025 (Close out celebration TBD)
  1. Creates Monthly 2-5 Minute Presentation: Develops a presentation that correlates with the monthly workshop topic. Participants can work individually or collaborate in groups of 2-4 Cyber Champions. 
  1. Shares their presentations:
    • Presents their work at the local level (class and/or school morning announcements, PTA, etc.).
    • Students may also be selected to share their presentation district-wide at monthly Parent Tech Cafes or other district events.
