Description: STAR Early Literacy, STAR Reading and STAR Math are web-based assessment tools that are being utilized as DeKalb County School District's (DCSD's) Universal Screeners. STAR Early Literacy is the Universal Screener for all students grades K-1. STAR Reading and STAR Math are the Universal Screener for all students grades 2-9. Students are assessed in reading and math to determine areas of strength and areas of needed improvement. The data is used by schools to provide additional instructional support. Parents should contact their child's school to obtain student reports. Schools should periodically distribute growth reports to students and parents.
