DeKalb Instructional Technology

The DeKalb County School District is standardized on the Promethean ActivClassroom. The district's goal is to install one ActivBoard in all classrooms so that all teachers and students have access to this interactive and engaging tool.
In order to use the ActivBoard System, the teacher needs to locate the appropriate ActivPens(s) and remote control. The ActivBoard must also be connected to a DCSD workstation (desktop or laptop).  All DCSD teacher workstations are pre-configured to operate the ActivBoard.  Please see your administrator for more information on the location of equipment for your ActivBoard.
Other components like the ActivVotes and ActivExpressions (student-response devices) as well as ActivSlates may be available to teachers.  There is not a one to one ratio, but there are usually sets of these items that can be checked out.  Start with your Teacher-Librarian (Media Specialist) for more information.

Instructional Technology will be partnering with Curriculum and Instruction and the local school to provide multiple training opportunities for all staff.  The focus for this year will be for teachers to learn to use it and find ways to integrate it!
Course delivery will include online and face to face options with the opportunity to earn board hours for credit.
